Most dogs have a hearing range that goes three times higher than that of their people. They hear stuff we can’t hear. Maybe that explains all the barking for no apparent reason!
We’ve all known a person who can wiggle their ears a little, but with dogs it’s no problem to move them all over the place. Dogs have around 18 muscles that work JUST their ears. The flexibility of their ears allows them to zero in on a sound and amplify it. Same way it works for us to cup our hands behind our ears.
Three times the range. Able to zero in on and focus on a sound.
But really, all that can sure end up looking a little goofy.
